Biography

Elizabeth Belino, M.D., MPH & TM, is a pediatrician whose interests include international health and infectious diseases. Originally from Alexandria, Virginia, she is now based in New Orleans and remains active as a Pediatric consultant for international and national organizations. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology from Newcomb College. She then received her Master's Degree in Public Health and Tropical Medicine from Tulane University as well. Dr. Bellino completed her medical education at St. George's University School of Medicine. She began her pediatric training at Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, and completed her training at Tulane University. After completing her pediatric residency, she received a 2-year fellowship grant in Global Health and worked as an Associate Professor of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Tulane University. She also spent 2 years on the Uganda-Rwanda-Congo border where she helped develop the pediatric ward of a rural hospital. Dr. Bellino was in Haiti as one of the first pediatric responders to the earthquake in 2010, where she worked at the United Nations Field Hospital. She remains very interested and active in medical disaster relief and humanitarian aid in both Haiti, Bahamas, and East Africa. She travels annually to Kenya to assist in medical education in clinics and larger hospitals. She has co-authored a chapter in the Textbook of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and currently works at as a Pediatric Emergency Room Physician at Children's Hospital New Orleans. She is busy with 2 small children at home and enjoys running, travel and art.
