Come over to the NCI House (7025 Freret St.) anytime between 12:30-1:30 PM to have lunch and meet fellow students and NCI staff. This program is open to all students, and students are also welcomed and encouraged to study at the NCI House anytime we are open. Food will be supplied until it runs out. For finals week, there will be extended hours for a craft study break.

Title: "The Archive of the Enslaved: Power Enslavement, and the Production of the Past"
During this presentation, Dr. Montalvo will discuss her current book project, The Archive of the Enslaved: Power Enslavement, and the Production of the Past, a legal history of slavery, capitalism, and freedom that narrows in the everyday business of slavery in the antebellum courtroom to examine the relationship between the production of property and the production of the past.
