Biography

Ricki Slacter Kanter graduated Sophie Newcomb College of Tulane University in 1978 with a double major in Psychology and Economics. She continued into law school earning her JD degree from Stetson University. She practiced law for a few years in the field of labor law but found greater happiness selling residential real estate. Ricki was a founding member (2001) and current Chairperson of the Board for Kenya Education Fund (KEF), which gives high school scholarships to children in Kenya. She has served on the Board of the Washington DC Chapter of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. In addition, Mrs. Kanter served for many years on the Board of Temple Rodef Shalom in Falls Church, VA. and on the Board of Wolf Trap Associates.  She is married to Joel Kanter (Tulane, 1978) and has three grown children. In her spare time, Ricki enjoys her Havanese dog, playing bridge, reading, and attending all sports, concerts, and travel.
