Maggie Bourgeois Headshot

Biography

Maggie holds a BA from Newcomb College in Spanish, which prepared her for a living experience in Central America in her mid-twenties and promoted a lifetime curiosity about other cultures.  After returning to the United States, Maggie and her husband, Jay, moved to various places such as Pittsburgh, and Palo Alto before settling in Charlottesville, VA.  She affiliated with her women’s fraternity in each place and served on its Alumnae Association Boards and various offices on the House Boards of the House Corporations (Treasurer, Chapter Finance Advisor, President).  Maggie has been significantly involved in her Church, serving on the Vestry, leading the Stewardship Committee, completing a four year course in lay ministry, and coordinating parish ministries during transition between priests. Maggie served on the working board of a successful philanthropic start-up.  Maggie serves as a Board officer at Community Fund and participated in grant follow-up and grant award committees.  Another philanthropy close to her heart is the local Emergency Food Bank, for which she serves on the board and is an on-site volunteer. Maggie and Jay enjoy being able to spend several months out of the year in New Orleans.
