Holly Clement

Biography

Holly is a recently retired attorney with the Office of the Solicitor, U.S. Department of the Interior where she specialized in defense Indian trust litigation, Native American law, oil, gas, and mining on Indian and Federal Public Lands serving as an attorney. In addition to serving on the DAC, Holly plans on continuing her legal scholarship and consulting work in Indian law, natural resources and the environment, and expanding volunteer efforts with the McLean-based SHARE Inc.’s family assistance and food program. Holly was elected and served three terms (9 years) on the McLean Community Center Governing Board where among other things she spearheaded a successful middle-school after-school program for latch-key youth at the Community Center’s Old Firehouse Teen Center.

As a soccer coach and parent Holly served five years as a Board member and three years as President and Chief Executive Officer of McLean Youth Inc., a non-profit youth club sports organization, serving over 5,000 McLean youth in seven sports annually. Currently, Holly (married to Tulane Alumnus [A&S’ 79] Dr. Steve Clement with grown children) lectors at her church, serves on the Tulane Alumni DC Chapter, mentors young lawyers and Tulane women students through the Newcomb Mentorship Program, and has had the pleasure of hosting several Newcomb Book Club and several other TAA DC Chapter events at her home. Holly served on the NAA Board for three years and in the latter two years served as Chair of the Alumni Engagement Committee and Strategic Planning Committee.
