Biography

Chelsea is a seasoned public health practitioner who currently serves as Managing Director of the Common Health Coalition, a not-for-profit organization created to help ensure the U.S. health system is prepared to confront the next crisis.

Prior to this role, Chelsea served in leadership roles across multiple levels of government, including Executive Director of Government Affairs and Deputy Public Information Officer (for the COVID-19, mpox responses) for the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Chelsea also served within the New York City Mayor’s Office – first as a Health Policy Advisor and then as Deputy Chief of Staff for the Office of Management and Budget. She has held additional roles focused on policy, emergency response, and partnerships at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

At Tulane, Chelsea served as Associated Student Body President, Tulane EMS Assistant Director of Personnel, Vice President Panhellenic for Kappa Alpha Theta, Orientation Team Leader and Student Director, a Green Wave Ambassador, Vice President for the Graduate and Professional Student Association, and Undergraduate Student Government Senator.

In her free time now, Chelsea enjoys writing screenplays, drawing the world around her in cartoon form, advocating (loudly) for health and human rights, DIYing furniture and home decor, and watching bad TV. She lives with her husband Taylor (a fellow Tulane alum!) and 20-pound cat Theo (not a Tulane alum) and splits her time between Shreveport, LA and New York City.
