BJ Shannon (NC '99)

BJ Shannon is a 1999 graduate of Newcomb College, where she studied German and Economics, and a 2003 graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law. She spent twelve years in the international trade practice group at Alston & Bird LLP, and she has been Raytheon Company’s in-house Customs Counsel since 2017.  BJ also served for two years as the full-time Development Director at City Year DC, and she continues to enjoy supporting community organizations on a volunteer basis.  BJ lives in Washington, DC, where she loves to join friends for long bike rides, trail runs, or flying trapeze classes.
